The 2018 PFHOF Academy featured hundreds of elite youth athletes mixing it up and improving their game in the birthplace of football. Between July 10th-19th, athletes participated in various 3-day programs that featured elite coaches, on-field sessions, classroom learning and character development seminars to transform football players in better athletes and people. The first session (July 10th-12th) was made up of the High School and the Elite Specialist group. High school players spent time with former NFL Legends like Rod Woodson and Gus Frerotte. The on-field sessions consisted of competitive drills, technique training & rigorous performance testing ranking players in the 40 yard dash, vertical and broad jump, 3 cone drill and flexibility.
The Middle School and Young Guns session (July 13th – July 15th) included classroom session, on-field session, performance evaluation and seminars. During this session, the campers were able to meet Trey Hodge, an 11-year old brain cancer survivor who was given the chance to get into the action and play some football. Read his story here!
The International & Rising Stars Academy session (July 17th – July 19th) was a huge success this year and showcased athletes from more than 19 countries. Athletes came from Asia & Europe to work on their game and learn from the best coaching staff in America. The Academy’s elite coaching staff, featuring both NFL Gold Jacket athletes and current/former NFL coaches such as Rod Woodson, Josh Malone, Braxton Miller and Chuck Bresnahan. This group also witness a special moment when 12 year old brain cancer survivor, Kente Binford. He was able to score a touchdown with the handoff coming from Braxton Miller, where the group erupted in support! Read his story here!
